This conference will provide a platform for national and international experts to discuss pathways to achieve net-zero carbon energy systems. Given the wide range of advancements that need to be in place for net zero energy systems, papers will be invited on eight tracks that are listed below.
Indian Institute of Technology Roorkee is among the foremost institutes of national importance in higher technological education in the field of Engineering and, Basic and Applied Sciences. Since 1847, the Institute has rich legacy in the field of technical manpower development.
Looking back, in 1854 the institute was renamed as Thomson College of Civil Engineering and on September 21, 2001, through Ordinance issued by the Government of India and an Act of the Parliament, the institute was declared as the nation's seventh Indian Institute of Technology. IIT Roorkee is celebrating 175 years (1847-2022) of imparting technical education and contribution in the development of the society. The celebrations started from Nov 25, 2021 and will continue till Nov 24, 2022. Different academic, cultural, sports, outreach activities are being planned by students, faculty, staff and alumni during the year of celebrations.
Department of Hydro and Renewable Energy (HRED) formerly Alternate Hydro Energy Centre, an academic department of Indian Institute of Technology, Roorkee was established in the year 1982 and is going to complete a Ruby jubilee this year.
The vision of HRED is to tap the huge renewable energy potential available in the country and to build up the expertise and the power generation capacity through the research and development in the areas of small hydro and other renewable energy sources.
